Resveratrol Benefits Reviewed - Do You Know the Health Benefits of Resveratrol?

For centuries there have been reports on the benefits of red wine, however, it was not until the early 1990s when everyone heard about the "French Paradox" and all about the benefits of red wine.  But what exactly is it in red wine that is so good for people?  Scientists believe it is resveratrol, which is in the skins of the grapes.  The resteravrol benefits reviewed this year include the following:

  • Cancer prevention

  • Protection of the heart and brain from damage

  • Reducing age-related diseases

  • Fighting diabetes

  • Reversing obesity

  • Increasing energy and stamina

  • Helping reduce some cancers

These benefits have also been touted in the near-starvation type diet that some people endure, however, who wants to do that.  After all, you may not live forever but it will sure feel as if you are.  With resveratrol's claims, there is no reason to put yourself through that type of torture.

Many people are relating that resveratrol gives them more energy and endurance, which has been shown to be true in test mice.  There have also been claims that cognitive function is improved, helping for clearer thought like that of someone younger.

Through studies, there is hope that it will be shown that resveratrol helps with many common ailments seen in the older generation including Alzeheimer's disease.  Some say resveratrol is the closest thing to the fountain of youth right now, however, while it will not turn back the clock, it may give some people a longer life span and the gift of better health.
